To ensure fairness to our instructors and students, and to allow us to reserve classroom space, vehicles, and instructional time, all enrollments are subject to the following refund and cancellation policies. By enrolling, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
General Refund Policy (Classroom Courses & Packages)
Refund eligibility is based on the original purchase date, not on class dates, rescheduled sessions, or make-up classes.
30+ days from purchase:
• 100% refund minus non-refundable PayPal processing fees
14–29 days from purchase:
• 50% refund minus non-refundable PayPal processing fees
13 days or less from purchase:
• No refund
Important Notes:
• All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email.
• PayPal processing fees are non-refundable and are not returned to us by the payment processor.
• Refunds are not issued for missed classes, same-day cancellations, or partial attendance.
• If a student misses a classroom session, any offered make-up session is not guaranteed and is provided at the instructor’s discretion and subject to class availability.
• If a make-up session is offered and later canceled by the student, the original purchase-date refund policy still applies, and no refund will be issued.
• Moving a student to a different class due to missed sessions does not reset or extend refund eligibility.
Behind-the-Wheel (Driving Lessons) Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Behind-the-Wheel driving lessons require dedicated instructor time, vehicle scheduling, and reserved instructional blocks. These sessions are subject to the following cancellation rules:
Less than 24 hours notice:
• Non-refundable (lesson is forfeited)
24–48 hours notice:
• 50% cancellation fee applies
Same-day cancellations or no-shows:
• No refund and the driving lesson is forfeited
Cancellations must be submitted via email to avoid being marked as a no-show.
Missed Driving Lesson Rescheduling Option
• For Behind-the-Wheel driving lessons only, we offer a limited rescheduling option when a lesson is missed or canceled within 24 hours or on the day of the lesson:
• $50 rescheduling fee to rebook the missed driving lesson
• Must be requested via email
• Subject to instructor and schedule availability
• If the rescheduling option is not used, the driving lesson is forfeited.
Please note:
Instructor time is reserved, instructors are paid, and vehicle availability cannot be resold once scheduled. For this reason, missed or last-minute driving lesson cancellations are not eligible for refunds.
Policy Acknowledgment
By enrolling in any Driving School of Hawaiʻi program, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these refund and cancellation policies.
(Applies to Classroom Instruction, Teen Behind-the-Wheel, and Adult Driving Lessons)
Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to student safety, learning outcomes, and program completion. By enrolling, students agree to the following attendance requirements.
Classroom Instruction (Virtual or In-Person)
• Attendance is mandatory for all required classroom hours, whether conducted virtually or in person.
• Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be marked absent at the instructor’s discretion.
• Missed classroom sessions are not guaranteed a make-up. Any make-up sessions offered are provided at the instructor’s discretion and subject to class availability.
• Repeated absences, chronic tardiness, or failure to participate may result in removal from the program with no refund.
• Removal from the program does not reset or extend refund eligibility.
Behind-the-Wheel (Teen) & Adult Driving Lessons
• Students must arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled driving lessons.
• Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson or forfeiture of the session, depending on instructor availability and schedule constraints.
• Missed or same-day canceled driving lessons are considered a forfeited session and are not refundable.
• A $50 rescheduling option may be available for missed driving lessons, subject to instructor availability and program policies.
• Repeated missed lessons, late arrivals, or no-shows may result in termination of remaining lessons with no refund.
Illness & Emergency Situations
• In cases of illness, students must notify the school as soon as possible via email.
• A doctor’s note is required for any illness-related rescheduling consideration.
• Approval of illness-related rescheduling is not guaranteed and remains at the discretion of the instructor and program availability.
• Without proper documentation, missed sessions are treated as standard absences or no-shows.
Final Attendance Acknowledgment
Failure to attend scheduled sessions, arrive on time, or follow attendance expectations may impact program completion and certification eligibility. Attendance issues do not override refund or cancellation policies.
Teen & Adult Programs: All sessions must be used within 3 months of the course start date
• Approved refunds will be issued within 7–10 business days
• Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at the time of booking
